I’m going to show you how to make palm tree luau table centerpieces that are super easy to make, and they give any table a little pop of Hawaii!
Plus, these are cheap Hawaiian luau supplies that will save you a lot of money at the party store.
You can use an empty VOSS water bottle if your party is indoors. Or, I suggest leaving it full of water if you are taking it outside (to avoid it falling over in the wind.)
You can usually get a case of VOSS water at Costco if you need a bunch at wholesale prices.

Hawaiian Luau Decorations: How to Make a Paper Palm Tree Luau Centerpiece
This Hawaiian paper palm tree centerpiece uses a Cricut machine.
You can definitely cut out all the DIY palm tree leaves by hand, but it can get pretty exhausting if you are making a bunch of these tropical party centerpieces for a big luau.
So, I think it’s best to use a Cricut for your luau centerpieces DIY.
Hawaiian Luau Centerpiece Materials:
- Cricut or other cutting machine
- Card stock (8.5×11” 65-80lb) green
- Cricut blue light or green standard grip mat
- VOSS bottle
- Kraft paper
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Scissors

DIY Hawaiian Paper Palm Tree Luau Centerpiece Instructions:
Here are all the steps to create these palm tree centerpieces for a luau party!
Step 1:
The first thing you need to do is upload the SVG file to design space. You’ll want to select the layer with the set of files and then hit “attach” on the layers panel.
Then, click “make it” to cut the files as normal.
Step 2:
Make sure to adjust your material dial/setting to “medium card stock” and load the card stock onto a blue or green grip mat. Then click “go.”
Step 3:
Now, cut your Kraft paper into one-inch wide strips. Don’t stress if they aren’t perfect. These are going to be the trunk of your palm tree, and those ridges are never perfect. In fact, they look better when they aren’t!
Wrap and layer these strips around your VOSS bottle and glue them down until they feel secure.
Step 4:
After you’ve wrapped your entire bottle, it’s time to add on the palm tree leaves.
Make sure to follow these screenshots and use the photos as a guide so that your palm trees are assembled correctly. There are grooves to make them fit. These grooves allow the palm tree leaves to sit on the lid of the bottle, and they were specifically designed to do that.
And that’s it! You can repeat this as many times as you like to create lots of little palm tree centerpieces for your Hawaiian luau party!
