I love Christmas. There. I said it.
And while others may be dreaming of a White Christmas, I’m usually dreaming of snowmen made from sand on a quiet Hawaii beach while listening to Mele Kalikimaka.
One of my favorite Christmas traditions in Hawaii is heading to the stores the day after Christmas to take advantage of all the sales on Christmas decorations!
Since we can’t always spend Christmas in Hawaii, I’ve started collecting Hawaii Christmas decorations to bring a little Aloha into our holiday season.
It started with my ever-growing collection of Hawaiian Christmas ornaments and before I knew it, I had Hawaiian Santa decorations, Hawaiian nutcrackers, a Hawaiian Christmas tree skirt, and even a Hawaiian tree topper.
Instead of fighting it, I just went ALL in!
So, if you’re looking for some Hawaiian Christmas decorating ideas, you’ve come to the right place!

Hawaii Christmas Decorations FAQs
Usually, a lot of poinsettias are involved. That’s because they grow well in Hawaii and add a tropical flair to any Christmas decor. Also, you’ll see Santas wearing Aloha Shirts as well as signs that say “Mele Kalikimaka!”
To start off, Santa usually arrives in Hawaii by outrigger canoe (or sometimes a surfboard.) Santa and his elves are usually wearing Aloha Shirts and often throw out a shaka when greeting kids. And you’ll see a lot of palm trees decorated with lights.
The Hawaiian word for Santa is “Kanakaloka” and he’s usually barefoot wearing an Aloha Shirt and shorts.
