My husband got an Instant Pot last year and he’s been loving figuring out what he can cook in it. We’ve done a lot of meat dishes, soups, and pasta recipes. Honestly, the results have been hit/miss.

Since we had to cancel our trip to Hawaii, we’ve been trying to recreate our Hawaiian vacation at home. A big part of that is making Hawaiian-style food.

Our kids keep asking to help us cook meals. We love it because when they help make it, they usually also eat it!

This pineapple teriyaki meatball recipe is perfect for them. They can help us pour in the ingredients and push the buttons.

We like serving these Hawaiian meatballs over white rice or making our own fried rice. And we usually make gai lan (Chinese style broccoli) or bok choy to go with it.

Hawaiian Style Instant Pot Hawaiian Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients for your Teriyaki Meatballs:

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple
  • 28 oz frozen beef meatballs
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons grated ginger
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • spring onions for topping

How to Make Teriyaki Meatballs in an Instant Pot

1. Pour water into the pot.

2. Insert steamer basket.

3. Pour in meatballs and add pineapple. Make sure the meatballs are all around the steamer.

4. Place lid on the pot. Close valve. Set to pressure cook and set timer to 6 minutes.

5. Once the Instant Pot stops counting and beeps; release pressure. Remove meatballs and pineapple to a bowl. Drain liquid from Instant Pot. Add meatballs and pineapple back to the pot.

6. Set Instant Pot to sauté mode. In a small bowl or liquid measuring cup, mix together garlic, ginger, teriyaki sauce, corn starch, and brown sugar. Whisk well.

7. Pour mixture over meatballs. Stir lightly until the sauce starts to thicken. Once it thickens turn off instant pot. Serve meatballs over rice topped with spring onions.
