As soon as the weather starts to get warm, I can’t stop dreaming about sipping tropical cocktails outside.

Whether you are getting together for a summer BBQ or just enjoying some quality alone time, you can’t go wrong with these tropical fresh fruit slushies! And they have just the right amount of wine in them!

Two of my all-time favorite Hawaiian fruits are mango and passion fruit. These flavors work so well together, and they instantly transport you to a tropical island.

Mango Passion Fruit Wine Slushie Recipe

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 4 cocktails

Ingredients:

  • 1 Mango, peeled and diced
  • 1 Passion fruit, pulp/seeds only
  • A full bottle of white wine
  • 2 Tbsps honey
  • ¼ Cup Cointreau
  • 2 ½ Cups ice

Directions:

Peel and dice a fresh mango. Cut passion fruit in half and scoop out the pulp and seeds.

Place the mango, passion fruit, wine, honey, and Cointreau into a high-powered blender and process until smooth.

To make a wine slushy, pour all the ingredients into the blender. Image of a blender with fresh mango, passion fruit, wine, and honey inside.

Add the ice to the mango passion fruit puree and process until it gets a slushie texture. This should take around 1 minute.

Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Notes:

  • You can also use frozen passion fruit pulp, passion fruit cocktail puree, or frozen mango instead of fresh.
  • I used Sauvignon Blanc for this recipe. If you pick a sweeter white wine, such as a Riesling or Moscato (my favorite), omit the honey and add it at the end if needed.
  • You can garnish with lemon slices, fresh mint sprigs, or lime wedges.

Can you eat passion fruit seeds?

Absolutely. Passion fruit seeds are definitely edible, and they have nice tart taste that balances well with the sweet fruit. But can you eat passion fruit skin? Unfortunately, the skin of passion fruit isn’t edible, so you’ll need to scoop out the fruit in order to eat it.

Is passion fruit citrus?

Although you might think passion fruit is citrus, it’s actually not.

Is passion fruit acidic?

Yes, there’s a lot of citric acid in passion fruit. And it’s a good source of fiber, Vitamin C, and pro-vitamin A. Plus, it’s rich in antioxidants.

Is passion fruit sweet?

Yes! The pulp of passion fruit is quite sweet, but the seeds are tart. You can either remove the seeds or eat them together for a tasty combination.

Ingredients

  • 1 Mango, peeled and diced
