My husband loves to cook and decided to get an Instant Pot earlier this year as a fun kitchen gadget to play around with.

We’ve experimented with a lot of different entrees, including Instant Pot Hawaiian Meatballs, and we’ve been loving how the flavors come out!

In an effort to recreate some of our favorite take-out dishes, we thought we’d play around with a recipe for Instant Pot teriyaki chicken.

It’s something that our whole family will eat (even my picky 6-year-old) and it’s ready in just minutes.

This Instant Pot teriyaki chicken recipe uses bottled sauce to make it easier, but you can also make your own teriyaki sauce from scratch.

Teriyaki Chicken FAQs

What’s the best bottled teriyaki sauce?

Our family likes Yoshida’s, Soy Vay, or the Kikkoman teriyaki sauce. There are low sodium and gluten-free options with several bottled teriyaki sauces, so it’s always best to research if you have dietary restrictions.

How healthy is teriyaki chicken?

Teriyaki chicken can be high in sodium and sugar, depending on the type of sauce you use and how big of a portion you eat. Otherwise, teriyaki chicken is a great source of protein and kids usually gobble it up!

What does teriyaki chicken taste like?

It’s so yummy! It’s a great mix of slightly sweet and slightly salty. But the flavor isn’t overly powerful, so it’s something most people enjoy eating. And the flavor changes a bit when you grill it (the smoky flavor is pretty awesome!)
